Nigel Pell-Ilderton at Darlington LA has always been fine with us. The LA produce a leaflet about home ed, which more or less reflects the official guidelines. They recently sent out a 'newsletter' and an invitation to a meeting for home educators to get together (included a free lunch! - Sadly I couldn't go as I work on that day.) They have also sent us a CD Rom that all schooled children in the area get about Internet Safety. Last year they organised an open day for home educators at the local council-run museum, where you could go and see what their education team had to offer but could also look round the museum for free.
So Darlington gets the thumbs up from me! |
