He is an ex secondary school head teacher, a thespian type. His wife is an artist. Nice enough chap.
Appears open minded about Autonomous Ed. Not pushy at all. Happily accepted my two page educational philosophy. Had a cuppa, chatted about eco friendly heating/woodburners and cats. Didn't push to see evidence of work or my daughter, but did see my resources.
Was here about 40 mins. I explained I wouldn't want any further visits and would just be sending a report from now on and he said that was fine. I am expected to send in another report or have a visit (if I want one) in two years time.
I asked for any free dyslexia support resources and he was embarrassed to say he couldn't offer anything at all, but could put me in contact with other EHE families locally. I never heard from anyone though! He does know I worked in primary education as a high level TA for many years, so that has to be taken into consideration. But overall, compared to other LA inspectors I have heard of, I'd give him a thumbs up. |
